In the last few years, mainstream filmmakers have observed that Punjab has extra to it than mustard fields, bawdy jokes, and belles dancing to the beats of Balle Balle. This week, author-director Balwinder Singh Janjua paints a murky story in the State scarred by insurgency and drug threat. The eight-episode series follows a police informant Gary alias Gurnam Singh (Randeep Hooda) who turned into roped in as a CAT to crush the militant companies after he lost his dad and mom to the scourge.
Leading a secular life in which he works as a mechanic to offer a higher destiny to his sister and brother, Gurnam is referred to as again by using his handler Sehtab Singh (Suvinder Vicky), this time to infiltrate a drug ring that has his brother in its crosshairs. The cartel is being run via a powerful flesh presser Madam Aulakh (Geeta Agrawal) and the Ghalib-spouting, scheming Sehtab has a bigger agenda that the earthy Gurnam couldn’t fathom.
